Spot metering

For landscape photography Matrix metering is often a good idea, to get an average meter reading across the whole scene. However, the world of macro is so small that you can be specific with your meter readings. Switch to Spot metering for more accurate, pin-point light readings – just make sure you meter from a mid-tone, like grass.
