Maximising depth of field in your macro shots is one of the hardest things to accomplish, but one technique to try is to keep your image sensor parallel with the subject. By angling your camera so that it’s parallel with the so-called plane of focus, you’ll get the best depth of field possible through the whole of your shot. If it’s not parallel, one side of your shot will be thrown out of focus.
