Tripod platform

This is the circular surface at the top of the centre column, to which the head attaches. It’s often secured by small grub screws, as well as the main 1/4- or 3/8-inch stud.

Splines on the pressure plates of the Benro and Vanguard pivot mechanisms enable a firm lock throughout a wide range of pivot angles, in incremental steps.
