YOUR PHOTO CHALLENGE: GO SHOOT… A creature close-up
Day one, first card from the pack, and already we were playing fast and loose with the tasks we’d set ourselves! While the challenge was to shoot a creature close-up, we came across this jewelled spider’s web when scouring a lake for swans or ducks. It was a damp, misty morning and the soft light and lack of wind created the perfect conditions for photographing its delicate details. Chris framed the web against a dark area of the lake, dialling down the exposure a little to ensure the backdrop remained dark in the photo. The resulting image might not follow the challenge to the letter, but we think it does in spirit…
