HOT SHOT #1

-

Our Apprentice says… This took several attempts to get right. There were barriers all around the track, so I had to avoid getting anything distracting in the frame. The day started out quite bright, so Gary suggested I keep my ISO at 200. By shooting at 1/800 sec the lens opened up to f/2, and Gary pointed out that this would freeze my subject and separate the biker from the background too, because of the shallower depth of field. My Nikon 200mm f/2 lens compressed the perspective nicely and made the shallow depth of field even more apparent.
