Tony re­duced his shut­ter speed down 1/100 sec, which at a fo­cal length of 120mm means that there’s some def­i­nite blur to be had. By track­ing or pan­ning with the biker, you can main­tain a sharp fo­cus on the bike but blur the ground as the bike – and your cam­era – speeds over it. This is a great tech­nique to con­vey a sense of speed in a still pho­to­graph.
