No Cars!

The composition of this shot is strong but subtle. The leading line of the road draws our eye down the image to the two figures and the donkey in the foreground. But all along the roadside we can see people walking, busy with their day’s events – a reminder that each random passer-by is living a life as vivid and complex as your own. With no vehicles in sight, this is also a rare shot for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, which at the last count reportedly had around 200,000 vehicles on the road.
