Pro-grade construction

Similar in build and size to the DX-format D300, the D700 has a tough magnesium alloy body.

Top panel

As with Nikon’s other ‘pro’ SLRs, the shooting mode dial on the top panel is replaced by a cluster of buttons for quick access to white balance, quality and ISO settings.

Shooting modes

On top there’s a Mode button for selecting PASM shooting modes. There are, of course, no scene modes in this pro-grade camera.
