Picky Eaters
Daniel Rosengren, Sweden
Marabou storks rely on other scavengers to prepare their meals. Their tweezer‑like beaks are not designed for ripping flesh but are excellent for picking up morsels – and also, when the opportunity arises, for catching small prey, including insects. Here, in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, the vultures had already been and gone, leaving plenty of pickings on the zebra carcass. Nikon D700, 14-24mm f/2.8, 1/400 sec, f/20, ISO800
