Why do you like the D810 so much?

Practical reasons. I’m not a tech nerd, I just look for the thing that is useful to me. I had the D4S, fabulous and very professional – but I sold it when I found the D810 was more than enough for me.

I use it because I like the great image detail; for the macro, that is very nice. I like the way you can crop in-camera to get different image sizes, and I like also that the D810 has on-camera flash. That’s not considered professional, but in fact it’s very useful when you use the wireless system to turn on the other flashes. It acts as a master, and the professional cameras, like the D5 and D4S, never had that. It’s a shame because it’s very useful. Sometimes I would be using the D3S and the D4S in a cave and I had to use the Speedlight Commander unit to trigger the other flashes, but I always scratched the Commander on the ceiling of the caves. When you use the Commander it need to be up high, whereas the pop-up flash isn’t so high, so it’s very useful to me.
