Shoot from up high
You can’t go to Snowdonia without climbing Snowdon! Mid-afternoon we stopped at the 359m-high Pen-y-Pass. From here we had two choices to reach the 1085m summit: the gentler but slower Miner’s Path, or shorter and ‘quicker’ route up the steep rocky steps of the Pyg Track, which we opted for. It was tough-going, but after a few hundred metres of climbing, we were blessed with amazing valley views back down to Llanberis (above). The ‘dragon’s back’ of Crib Goch and Mount Snowdon were shrouded in cloud, but from three-quarters of the way up the mountain, we were blessed with epic views to the valleys below, across Llyn Llydaw and beyond.
