Manual control
Break out of the Program and Aperture Priority shooting modes. To control our exposures we shot in Manual mode so we were able to set the aperture and shutter speed to get the results we want, rather than letting our camera dictate what it thinks should be bright and dark. This is important when we want to expose for the brightest parts of our scene – such as the sun highlighting the valley – which has the added benefit of darkening the blue sky and clouds.
