A beauty dish is a favourite light modifier among portraiture enthusiasts due to the wraparound look it offers. Rather than diffusing light like a softbox, the beauty dish reflects it to illuminate your sitter from all angles, giving greater contrast and drama. Unlike a traditional all-metal dish, Phottix’s latest design is 60cm in diameter, yet easily folds down for compact transportation. It uses the popular Bowens S Type mount that enables it to attach to numerous flash heads, including Phottix’s Indra lights. It can also be teamed with a flashgun, providing you also have a Phottix Cerberus mount adapter.

Despite its white fabric interior, Phottix claims the light characteristics from the Luna II should be comparable with a conventional metal beauty dish. It also includes a white diffuser and a fabric grid for additional light shaping, should you need it.
