Any Nikon DSLR can work similar magic, though the higher the sensor resolution, the better. You just need a macro lens, and a means of holding and backlighting your negatives/slides. One trick is to attach your Nikon to a tripod that lets you shoot straight down. Position your film beneath, placed on top of a LED light panel or lightbox.
