I am writing in regard to the Lanzarote star trail photo in the

N-Photo 83, page 66. As an amateur astrophoto­grapher, exposure data always interests me. But something about 2000 shots of 30 secs doesn’t seem right. This equates to nearly 17 hours. Yet, the image shows a star trail of approx. 45 degrees, about 1/8 of a day or three hours. Either 2000 shots or 30 sec – or both – are incorrect. I know this nitpicking, but correct me if I’m wrong! Well spotted Steve – the exposure time was, in fact, 2000 shots of 10 secs each, for a sequence of around five-and-a-half hours…
