Switch gear Once you’ve got settings dialled in, it’s time to get creative
When shooting outside, keep an eye on the weather, because as the sun dips in and out of cloud your exposure values change. If you have Auto ISO engaged, the Nikon will do most of the work for you. That being said, you may want to dial in some negative exposure compensation when it gets sunny to avoid clipping the highlights. Being adaptable extends to composition. In the rightmost image we’ve also employed ‘Dutch tilt’ to make the scene more dynamic and enhance the impression of speed.
