Remotely control your camera and more

Connectivity is a hugely important factor in this digital age. We’re used to our phone’s ability to quickly capture and upload images online anytime, anywhere. And with the Nikon Snapbridge app, you can transfer media from your camera directly to a smart device in a jiffy too.

Snapbridge allows Nikon users to pair up to five compatible cameras to their smart device. It was announced way back in 2016, but a recent update has transformed its functionality. You can now upload Raw files, remotely control DSLR and mirrorless cameras, and make use of a power-saving mode, among many other things.

If you’re looking to backup images in the field, or want to quickly upload social mediafriendly files to your phone or tablet, Snapbridge is worth a look. The ability to remotely control your camera is useful if you don’t have a remote shutter release handy, and syncing your smart device and camera’s location and time helps ensure you capture accurate EXIF data.

Snapbridge also works seamlessly alongside Nikon Image Space. You can upload photos to the free image sharing service, which allows Nikon product owners 20GB of storage. The app does require Wi-fi or Bluetooth to work, so do make sure your camera is compatible. Let’s take a closer look...
