“I realise I have a few rituals for reading NZ House & Garden. First, I open it at lunchtime and browse through all of the pages while sipping a cup of tea. Then each day I read an article, check out the recipes and drool over the advertised products. The gardens get close scrutiny for useful tips too. This causes many daydreams about possible redecorating or landscaping projects. Any likely recipes always get a bookmark for future reference.”

To be invited to a friend’s home for either cheese and crackers, a cup of coffee or a threecourse dinner always gives a feeling of wellbeing and belonging.
