“I realise I have a few rituals for reading NZ House & Garden. First, I open it at lunchtime and browse through all of the pages while sipping a cup of tea. Then each day I read an article, check out the recipes and drool over the advertised products. The gardens get close scrutiny for useful tips too. This causes many daydreams about possible redecorating or landscaping projects. Any likely recipes always get a bookmark for future reference.”

“Your magazine’s wonderful recipes make me wonder just how many people prefer to entertain at home rather than dine at a rowdy restaurant. To be invited to a friend’s home for either cheese and crackers, a cup of coffee or a threecourse dinner always gives a feeling of wellbeing and belonging. Many people cannot afford to dine out but with the range of beautifully illustrated and economical dishes you feature in your magazine, I’m sure that once people had the confidence to entertain at home it would never leave them. The main thing is to concentrate on getting to know people or spoiling those who have been in our lives for a long time. Let’s wave the flag for home entertaining.”
