Ōamaru INC DESIGN STORE

Ready for a surprising shopping experience? Designer Helen Riley-Duddin has used the front room in her home as a one-stop-shop for everything homeware and accessories related. With views over Ōamaru harbour, high ceilings, anaglypta wallpaper and sweeping velvet curtains it is the perfect place to display such a variety of products, most of which are locally made. A change of name and a change of direction: this creative outlet has added art books, publications and objects from throughout New Zealand to its offerings. Formerly known as Strange Haven, it still hosts events such as book launches and workshops at its pared-back premises. Named after the Radiohead song, Wolf at the Door offers baked goods made daily and coffee beans roasted on-site.
