Washful thinking

A stylish laundry that’s as gentle on the planet as it is on your clothes

-

Whether it’s a dedicated room of its own, or integrated into another space in the house, homeowners have increasingly high expectations for their laundry. They’re a vital space, but one we traditionally didn’t want to spend much time in. Choosing appliances that get the job done quickly and efficiently makes laundry less of a chore and more about living life well.

Now that we view each room in our homes through a green lens, we also want them to be as kind on the environment as they are on our clothes.

Miele has been working towards that for years by making sustainability a priority, and combining beautiful design with innovation, creating laundry appliances that produce results, while saving on energy and water.

The family-owned company has led the way in considering the environmental impact of each appliance it creates. Miele joined the United Nations Global Compact and implemented a strategy that starts at the point of manufacturing and follows through to when you match the last pair of socks from your dryer.

Miele believes in creating technology that doesn’t just do the job more efficiently and economically, but benefits the environment, too. For example, Automatic Load Recognition means the washing machine will adjust its water and energy consumption based on the size of the load.

AddLoad allows for both large and small items to be added to the wash until just before the end of the cycle, which saves on doing another load, while the TwinDos system automatically dispenses detergent at the perfect time of the wash, using up to 30 percent less than manual loading.

Your clothes are well cared for in the wash thanks to Miele’s honeycomb drum, which makes them last longer by creating a thin film of water between the drum and the laundry.

Functionality and sustainability are also at the heart of Miele’s latest tumble dryer range, which offers consistently low energy consumption and drying time. The TWF 720 is New Zealand’s first 8kg heat-pump dryer with a 10-star energy rating.

Miele knows how to make your laundry look and work better, while treading lightly on the planet.
