Hood is a nightmare — smooth it, run intakes down below the bumper fromwhatwecanseeyouwon’thaveanyproblems hereifit’sbasedonanexistingproductioncar.Less obviousthingswouldbeanyrollcagefittedtothe car;normallyrollcagescan’tbecertified(thereare exceptions,suchasscratch-builtcars),andsowould needtobeeithercoveredbyMotorsportNZorthe NZDragRacingAssociationthroughtheAuthority Cardprocess.There’snoreasonyoucan’tusea mechanicalinjectionsystem,providedyoucanmeet theemissionsrequirements,whichareactuallyjusta setofparametersbasedaroundanengineburningits fuelmixtureatanoptimumrate(sometimesdescribed usingbigwordslike‘stoichiometric’).Generallywhen acarpassestheLVVTAtest,it’llberunningatitspeak —andmostefficientfor—streetuse,soyouactually haveustothankforyourimprovedgasmileage!We’re notsureaboutyourplansforthesuspensionorbraking systems,butasalways,ifyourefertothe NZ Hobby Car Technical Manual’s pages,youshouldbeontheright track.It’sgoodtoseepeoplethinkingoutsidethebox, Bic—thissoundslikeawildridewhetherit’sastreet demonoracircuitscreamer!”
