GT3 CAMARO
With GT3 becoming an increasingly popular category worldwide, several contemporary cars are beginning to find their way into New Zealand, being used almost exclusively for endurance racing, such as the Mahindra series; the ASKO series; and the 101 events organized at Highlands, and at Hampton Downs this coming season. A second Reiter-built Chevrolet Camaro joined the fray recently, this car owned by Glenn Smith and driven by Smith and fellow amateur racer John De Veth. The eight-litre machine — which is less than two seasons old and ran in the Australian GT series — features a six-speed sequential Holinger box and traction control. Once the team members get a bit more seat time, the car is set to be very impressive!
