YOUNG BLOOD

-

Tommy Welch was just 19 when he started the build of his ’75 Holden Torana. Now, three years on, it’s easy to see where all the work has gone. With a Torana-loving boss, there was never a chance that the car would be anything but tough, and it’s certainly not lacking in that department now, thanks to plenty of late nights’ work. A 357ci small block has been built with plenty of good bits and will send power to the narrowed and braced nine-inch diff via a TH350 transmission. The car’s passenger-carrying days are over; in the rear, now, are a massive pair of tubs to cover the 315-wide rear rubber. With QA1 coilovers and Wilwood brakes, the car should handle all the punishment that it’s set to receive when it hits the road later this year.
