Suspension Integrity
The VE runs Tein Super Drift coilovers all round, with Nissan Silvia items up front, built by the team at Autolign. The Silvia units were chosen for both their availability, due to the Silvia’s popularity in drifting, and three-bolt upper mount. From factory, the Commodore front struts use a plastic bearing on the upper mount, and these are easily damaged under race conditions. The conversion was achieved by welding the upper strut mounts of a Silvia into the Commodore strut towers and ensures suspension integrity no matter how hard Fanga pushes the car.
