1990 HSV VG MALOO
The HSV VG Maloo was the first HSV utility, released in October 1990. Aesthetic enhancements included a bodykit derived from existing HSV kits, as well as 16-inch alloy wheels. Power was provided by the trusty 304ci Holden V8, which gained an HSV cold-air intake and twin exhaust system. Transmission choices were a BorgWarner T5 five-speed manual or GM TH700R4 four-speed automatic, and the Maloo rode on coil springs at all four corners, with a factory triangulated four-link rear set-up in conjunction with Panhard bar. Only 132 HSV VG Maloos were produced, making them a rarity a quarter-century on.
