The Southern Mustang Club Inc. will be hosting this year’s 38th New Zealand National Mustang Convention, to take place in Invercargill over Labour weekend. Registration for the event has now closed. About 160 Mustangs are expected to take part, with models ranging from 1964 to 2017, and with an estimated total power figure somewhere north of 50,000hp. The cars will begin with an open-track session at Highlands Motorsport Park on the Thursday, before heading to Invercargill. The judged car show will be held in the ILT Velodrome on Saturday, October 21, from 10am to 4pm. Sunday will see a cruise through central Southland, with a return to Invercargill via Teretonga Park raceway for another track session. Saturday’s car show will be open to the public and will be well worth checking out. Entry is $5 per adult, with kids under 16 free.
