SUMMER DONE RIGHT

-

Steve Walker sure loves his tough Fords, and, after selling his Clevor-powered ’67 Mustang fastback, it didn’t take him long to fill the resulting empty garage space. A ’64 Ford Galaxie was purchased out of the States and promptly equipped with full airbag suspension, utilizing a Viair set-up with Ridetech triangulated rear. With the stance and style pretty well sorted, Steve’s wasted no time in doing what he does best — making power! The original 289ci Windsor has been fitted with a 302 crank and rods, 40-thou oversize pistons, and a turbo-grind hydraulic cam. A pair of old Windsor big chamber heads that Steve had lying around have been ported and fitted with oversize valves, and, with thick-wall stainless headers, a pair of T3 turbos, and a Quick Fuel blow-through carb, the car won’t be lacking any go! Steve isn’t going crazy with power, though, preferring to keep the Galaxie a reliable cruiser with a bit of poke, and will be sticking with the factory four-speed manual and nine-inch diff. This is going to be one sweet summer cruiser!
