Steve Walker sure loves his tough Fords, and, af­ter sell­ing his Clevor-powered ’67 Mus­tang fast­back, it didn’t take him long to fill the re­sult­ing empty garage space. A ’64 Ford Galaxie was pur­chased out of the States and promptly equipped with full airbag sus­pen­sion, uti­liz­ing a Vi­air set-up with Ride­tech tri­an­gu­lated rear. With the stance and style pretty well sorted, Steve’s wasted no time in do­ing what he does best — mak­ing power! The orig­i­nal 289ci Wind­sor has been fit­ted with a 302 crank and rods, 40-thou over­size pis­tons, and a turbo-grind hy­draulic cam. A pair of old Wind­sor big cham­ber heads that Steve had ly­ing around have been ported and fit­ted with over­size valves, and, with thick-wall stain­less head­ers, a pair of T3 tur­bos, and a Quick Fuel blow-through carb, the car won’t be lack­ing any go! Steve isn’t go­ing crazy with power, though, pre­fer­ring to keep the Galaxie a re­li­able cruiser with a bit of poke, and will be stick­ing with the fac­tory four-speed man­ual and nine-inch diff. This is go­ing to be one sweet sum­mer cruiser!
