Running on Empty

We mentioned that Jim’s now got a ’57 Chev, and it won’t come as a surprise to learn that he’s building it as a Running on Empty tribute. He has a 502ci big block Chev for it, which is about to gain a 6-71 supercharger, twin FiTech throttle bodies, and a 500hp NOS shot on top of it all! Being a Chev 150, it’s a bare-bones two-door post sedan with mini-tubbed rear and satin black paint. The ’57 isn’t going to be the only mean machine in Jim’s garage! He’s also got a ’56 Chev 210 with a tunnel-rammed 327 and four-speed, which is being converted to a 454 and 4L80E auto, and his wife, Deb, has a ’57 Chev Bel Air four-door, which is to gain a fuel-injected small block and 4L80E auto.
