RAM TO LEAD CLASS
You may recognize it as a Dodge Ram, but when the Ram 1500 launches in New Zealand later this year, it will be imported and distributed under the Ram Trucks brand, by Ateco Group. Walkinshaw Automotive Group will be tasked with development and remanufacturing to suit the New Zealand and Australian markets, with a main focus on right-hand-drive remanufacture. With the lighter duty Ram 1500 set to launch in June, by which time you will be reading this, it will complement the heavy-duty Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks already on offer and is said to offer class-leading power, towing capacity, cabin size, and cargo space. Unlike the heavier duty Ram 2500 and Ram 3500, which are powered by 6.7-litre Cummins turbo diesel engines, the Ram 1500 will get a 5.7-litre Hemi V8. However, full technical and price information will be made available at ramtrucks.co.nz once the vehicle has launched.
