FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK:

-

The Hampton Downs Bathurst Legends round in January this year was probably one of the hottest meetings we have ever been at. The temperature soared, as did the number of casualties from within Central Muscle Cars (CMC) over the weekend. Along with a number of on-track incidents, we saw a number of mechanical failures as well, and you can’t help thinking that the soaring temperatures had something to do with those issues. For some time, the club has been contemplating splitting the Group 1 cars into two groups, based on the time it takes the drivers to get around a track — we are now at a point where we have been able to do that. We wanted to make sure that we had it right before launching into it, and, while it is still in its infancy (no doubt there will be a few tweaks to be made along the way), Group 1B now exists within CMC, so watch this space. Our next round will be at Manfeild on 23 and 24 February. Manfeild is the birthplace of CMC, and, as such, we have tried to support the track there over the years, and this season will be no different. See you there.
