LEAKED PHOTOS OF NEW FORD BRONCO

-

The world has been fascinated with the Ford Bronco since the first generation was produced back in the 1950s. While production of the second generation of the Bronco ended in 1996, Ford has been teasing an impending release of the third generation for the past year or so, and now we have insider images of the new model in production thanks to a well-timed leak — just weeks from the official reveal.

The photos that have appeared across Internet message boards show the SUV undisguised in both two-door and four-door trim, with what appears to be a removable roof and rail system on the four-door option. The twodoor appears to have a roll bar structure that extends to the rear of the cargo area. While these photos are from a currentlyunknown source, and the grainy quality doesn’t do them any favours, based on the Bronco R Baja 1000 prototype that Ford produced last year, the odds of the production version looking pretty damn close to this are high.

We can see a lot of original Bronco basic design in the third generation model, especially in the two-door, with a similar line running along the body. The proportions mask its larger, modern sizing, where some retroinspired designs fail.

With the Bronco being based on the Ford Ranger, you can expect the same 270hp, 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder to be standard. Rumours lead us to believe there may even be a Raptor-style off-road package available, which could offer a more powerful engine from the current Ford stable.
