COVID-19 DOESN’T STOP CAR BUYING!

-

Despite the country’s drastic measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, Mark Greenfield from Need A Car tells us the majority of its dealers are still able to operate through the different alert levels thanks to revised operation plans. Alert level three, of which we’re in at the time of writing, allows for a contactless sales process that is likely to be carried forward to some degree as we see out level two and one.

The majority of the sales process can be carried out online, where buyers can browse vehicles virtually, through the likes of Need A Car, other vehicle listing sites, and dealer websites. Dealers can handle all forms of online enquiry during this time, including virtual vehicle walkarounds taking advantage of video calling. Most dealers are facilitating finance and insurance options online, and are offering contactless pickup and delivery services. “We’re pleased to announce that dealers are still able to sell cars and have put measures in place to ensure this is carried out safely, for customers and employees,” says Greenfield. “This is a time where trust and credibility comes to the forefront and spending the time to read ratings and reviews from past customers will be useful when making purchasing decisions. We encourage people to check out the dealership’s BuyerScore ratings which can be found on Need A Car and Trade Me, or at www.buyerscore.co.nz which has over 65,000 customer reviews”.
