Honda’s new Africa twin has scooped the inaugural bikesales.com.au Bike of the Year Award, it was announced at the Melbourne Motorcycle Expo. As well as taking out the top honours, the Honda also won best ‘Adventure’ bike. “The Africa Twin (also known as the CRF1000L) was introduced in February (2016) and was an immediate hit with the market,” said Peter Singleton, General Manager of Honda Motorcycles. “It is particularly satisfying that we are attracting both past and new customers to our product and brand.” Priced in Australia at $15,499, the 998cc parallel twin puts of 70kW of power and 98Nm of torque.
