Honda’s new Africa twin has scooped the inau­gu­ral bike­sales.com.au Bike of the Year Award, it was an­nounced at the Melbourne Mo­tor­cy­cle Expo. As well as tak­ing out the top hon­ours, the Honda also won best ‘Ad­ven­ture’ bike. “The Africa Twin (also known as the CRF1000L) was in­tro­duced in Fe­bru­ary (2016) and was an im­me­di­ate hit with the mar­ket,” said Peter Sin­gle­ton, Gen­eral Man­ager of Honda Mo­tor­cy­cles. “It is par­tic­u­larly sat­is­fy­ing that we are at­tract­ing both past and new cus­tomers to our prod­uct and brand.” Priced in Aus­tralia at $15,499, the 998cc par­al­lel twin puts of 70kW of power and 98Nm of torque.
