Richmond

The historic town of Richmond is half-an-hour from Hobart and is home to Australia’s oldest gaol and oldest bridge still in use. Relax on the banks beside the heritage-listed bridge for a picnic – children will enjoy feeding the ducks. This is a great spot for arty types, with plenty of galleries, antique and knick-knack shops and cafés to choose from. After dark, experience a lantern-lit ghost tour along the cobblestone streets.
