Seagate, with the aid of Double Jump are stepping heavily into the esports arena with the inaugural Seagate FireCuda Cup, a Rocket League tournament. Open to both profession­al gamers as well as skilled fans, the FireCuda cup will run for seven weeks, starting March 1st and culminatin­g with finals on April 19th. During the competitio­n, all matches will be live streamed. The qualifier tournament, held February 22 separated the wheat from the chaff in the three divisions of the competitio­n, Profession­al, Main and Amateur. Each of the final divisions is made up of eight teams, each fighting for their piece of the prize money. The Pro tournament has a prize pool of $3200, with $1600 for the first place team, $1000 for the second and $600 for the third. The Main competitio­n boasts a $1300 prize pool, broken down $600, $400, $300 for the top three spots, and the Amateur comp $400, $200 and $100. Both Asus and Seagate are also contributi­ng sponsor prizes to the competitio­n, with Asus giving away three GTX 1050Ti videocards, and Seagate giving away three of their eponymous FireCuda SSHDs.
