COMMENDED: AMD Radeon RX 480

-

2016 was the year of VR, and AMD’s approach to powering this was radically different to Nvidia’s. Its goal was to target the masses, delivering products that could meet the heady demands of VR at a price point that wouldn’t send your bank account into shock. At the top of this pile was the RX480, which is currently retailing for a mere $300. While the rest of your VR setup isn’t exactly affordable, being able to power it all for less than $300 makes it a much more attractive proposition. While I do have concerns about how well this card will scale as VR worlds become more intricate, it did deliver what AMD promised – totally fluid VR game performance with today’s existing crop of VR titles, which continues to grow at an extremely healthy rate.
