DELL’S 8K, 7680X4320 , UP3218K 31.5” MONITOR

-

Just as everyone is getting used to 4K monitors, Dell has gone and released an 8K monitor. The 31.5” UP3218K has a whopping resolution, which equates to 280 pixels per inch and 33.2 megapixels. It’s a topnotch display, with a 1300:1 contrast ratio, 400 nits brightness and 100% AdobeRGB, 100% RGB and 98% DCI-P3 coverage. With a 60Hz refresh rate and a huge 7680 x 4320 resolution, the UP3218K is obviously designed for professional graphics use, not gaming. To actually use the UP3218K you need a graphics card with two DisplayPort 1.4 outputs, as a single DisplayPort cable hasn’t got enough bandwidth to push all those pixels around. Don’t get too excited though - the UP3218K isn’t on the Australian Dell store yet and Dell is charging US$4999 for it. Gulp. What’s life like with only one kidney?
