Hello everyone. I’m Ben, and I’m your new editor. With thanks to David for all his good work over the years, it’s my turn for a go at this. Though, it’s not my first time at the helm of this legendary magazine. I launched PC PowerPlay back in 1995 and was the editor for the first five years. Maybe we still have one or two readers from back then that remember that incredible time :)
Now, it’s a slightly different world. The internet is everywhere, and yes indeed you sure can get a lot of gaming goodness there, but what made PCPP the best in the old days still holds true today. It’s quality, readers. Good writing, careful planning, and access to the top devs that like to show and tell us things.
Magazines are also lovely to look at and hold. PC PowerPlay especially so. You can’t hold the internet. No, you can’t. You are holding PCPP right now. Good for you. It feels good, yes? You can take it to bed with you, if you like. Our pages are meticulously designed and are quite lovely to gaze upon. Think of PC PowerPlay as a premium version of the internet.
Today’s PC PowerPlay is put together by a gun team that spans the globe. We’ve added a bit about the main writers on page 59 so you know they’re real humans and not journo-bots. This is proper talent and experience at play here. They know their stuff and want you to be excited when they are.
I’m still a gamer, that never let up. I know loads of you have been in love with gaming your whole lives, too. Games are beautiful and wonderful, and we promise we will be excellent at the job of covering it all. That’s why PCPP is good, and deserves its place in this world, and in your hands. Hooray!
