Shortages solution

MOVES by the US Food and Drug Administration to allow compounding pharmacies to potentially produce medications in short supply have been welcomed by Australian compounders.

FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb said the organisation may boost the number of compounding pharmacies registering to become official ‘outsourcing facilities,’ with Matthew Belgrove from National Custom Compounding on the Gold Coast urging the TGA to consider making a similar move.
