Pride of Adv Pharmacy

-

PHARMACY owner, Veronica Nou’s tireless efforts to support refugees settling in Australia, has been recognised at the NSW Humanitarian Awards.

Nou (pictured), who is the proprietor of Advantage Pharmacy Oxley Park, was named as Refugee Supporter of the year, for her role as National Convenor of Mums4Refugees.

On top of campaigning for refugee rights and welfare, visiting families in detention, and delivering lowcost groceries, Nou also offers her skills as a pharmacist to provide free ongoing medication reviews to asylum seekers.

“This incredibly meaningful award represents so much,” she said.

“From the child refugee escaping genocide in Cambodia, to the confused and troubled teenager trying to figure out her place in Australia, and now a grown woman working in the best possible company at Mum4Refugees, with the Refugee Council of Australia, STARTTS and other amazing refugee advocacy organisations, this makes crystal clear the value of the work we all do together.

“It’s only because of the determined, brilliant, hardworking people around me who give so much every day, supporting people seeking a new life in safety, that makes it possible for someone like me to have come so far and give back in turn.”

Advantage Pharmacy CEO, Steven Kastrinakis, said the group was “very proud and inspired by Veronica’s hard work, passion and selfless contribution to campaigning and lobbying for refugee rights”.

“At Advantage we’re passionate about working to build stronger and healthier communities,” he said.
