It was wet and cloudy day, and by now it was getting dark as the fog settled in, so I needed to set the ISO to 800 to get a fast enough shutter speed of 1/800 sec for a blur-free shot. The cars were flying through this corner, believe it or not, and while I’ve not panned to blur the background, I think the spray off the back of the car really emphasizes the speed. We were so close to the track, I only needed a focal length of 80mm on my 1.6x crop-factor 60D.
