Don’t go overboard
although the Saturation slider is a great way to boost colour intensity, be careful to keep the results looking natural. When any colour becomes too extreme, the results can start to look cartoon-like. certain hues and subjects lend themselves to be boosted more than others – skin tones and blue skies start to look very odd when over-saturated, for example. When making adjustments, think about where the final image is going to end up, as printed images usually need a little less boost than a photo that’s going to be viewed on-screen. always increase the saturation intensity in small amounts and review the effect.
