I loved taking these shots, as with Jakob’s tips (see left) I was able to quickly master my panning technique. I began with a fast shutter speed, then worked down to only 1/30 sec for maximum background blur. At this speed I had more misses than hits, but captured this winner. By shooting at ISO400 I’ve gained a narrower aperture of f/22, which gives me more depth of focus for the whole car to be sharp. Jakob suggested a ‘right hand up’ composition, so it looks like the car’s going downhill, for a more dynamic shot.
