JAMES’S comment

This shot was a combination of panning and a slow 1/50 sec shutter speed, but not too much panning otherwise the curve of the track, Armco barrier and stands behind – which help to add context – would have been too blurred. I like the fact the front of the car is sharper than the rear, which also helps to add a sense of movement to the shot. I’d watched this Caterham going round Brooklands corner; as it was wet he was taking a wider line, so I pre-empted this when pre-focusing on the outside of the track.
