How to use A tilt-shift Lens
this specialized lens captures straighter architectural shots
step 1
A balanced composition can only be achieved by pointing the camera upwards, but his converges the verticals. This can be counteracted using the ‘tilt’ function.
step 2
The camera is now levelled but the composition doesn’t fit comfortably in the frame – we need to ‘shift’ the lens upwards to reposition the cathedral.
step 3
Applying just a small amount of ‘shift’ repositions the cathedral to look natural and square. This teeny adjustment is all it takes for a straightened shot.
