Can I apply the latest firmware update for my EOS 7D Mark II if my camera is many versions behind?

Brian Says… Virtually all EOS cameras have a firmware update at some point. It’s best to keep your camera up to date with the current firmware as frequently they improve the performance of the camera, or correct unexpected behaviour. For most updates you can just install the latest version regardless of the version on your camera. So if you have v1.0.2, then you can install the latest v1.1.1 without doing all the versions in-between. You can find your current firmware here: http://bit.ly/eosfirmware
