APS-C

-

This refers to the size of sensor used in Canon DSLRS like a 200D, 800D, 80D and 7D Mark II, measuring around 22.5x15mm. Its name and dimensions come from the APS (Advanced Photo System) film format, used in its Classic (C) aspect ratio. APS-C sensors have a narrower angle of view as they have a crop factor of 1.6x (also see EFL). Full-frame DSLRS need no focal length conversion as they have a 1x crop factor.
