GPS

Stands for global positioning system. This geotagging feature is built into many more recently introduced camera models, after first appearing on the Canon EOS 6D back in 2012. Using satellite-based navigation, it records the camera’s position when an image is made. This information can then be embedded in the image’s metadata, allowing some software to show maps of where you took each photo.
