Self-timer

A camera facility that incorporates a user-selectable time delay between the pressing of the trigger and the beginning of the exposure. It has traditionally been used to enable the photographer to appear in the shot. It's also a useful way of minimising the vibration caused by pressing the camera shutter button when shooting a long exposure with the camera mounted on a tripod.
