Why do all my pictures come out overexposed when I use studio lights and Aperture Priority?

Brian Says… Studio lights are triggered when the shutter opens. With your camera set to Aperture Priority, the camera meters the exposure before the shutter opens. This means the metering is based on the modelling lights, not the much more powerful flash light. You will need to use Manual exposure on the camera and a flash meter to measure the brightness.
